Exchange 2007 SP3 RU11 Released

Exchange sustained engineering has released Exchange 2007 SP3 RU11 to the Microsoft download centre as update 2873746.

Just like with Exchange 2007 SP3 RU10, which was released on Patch Tuesday, SP3 RU11 is the same.  And to increase the déjà vu, the security vulnerabilities are again related to the same 3rd party components.

Exchange 2007 SP3 RU11 Security Vulnerability Assessment

Exchange 2007 SP3 RU11 will update these three areas:

  • The vulnerabilities described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS13-061
  • 2852663 The last public folder database on Exchange 2007 cannot be removed after migrating to Exchange 2013
  • 2688667 W3wp.exe consumes excessive CPU resources on Exchange Client Access servers when users open recurring calendar items in mailboxes by using OWA or EWS

As always please ensure that you test and validate the update in a lab prior to placing into production.

Just in case you may be wondering why this update is for Exchange 2007 SP3, and not SP1 or SP2 it is because those versions are no longer supported.

Cheers,
