Mail Not Flowing From Office 365 To On-Premises Exchange Server

This is a repro of a customer reported issue where they were having issues sending email from Office 365 to on-premises Exchange servers.  Apparently this had been working previously with no issues, then mailflow started to have problems.  Some email was flowing from Office 365, but some was delayed or not delivered at all.

Still Running DirSync and AAD Sync–Really Time To Update

Reminder–End of Office 365 Outlook Anywhere Support October 31st 2017

The end of Outlook Anywhere support in Office 365 is almost upon us.  In a weeks time support for Outlook Anywhere (OA) will be removed in Office 365.  Note that this does not impact on-premises deployments. This change is in Office 365.  The replacement client connectivity protocol is MAPI/HTTP.  MAPI/HTTP is not a new protocol, it was introduced with Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1.

One of the deployment validation and testing tools which was also present in earlier AD FS releases is the /IdpInitiatedSignon.htm page.  This page is available by default in the AD FS 2012 R2 and earlier versions.  Though it should be noted this page is disabled by default in AD FS 2016.

PSRemoting for Office 365 AD FS Configuration

When configuring AD FS for Office 365, one of the final steps is to link Azure AD with the on-premises AD FS deployment.  This should occur only after AD FS and WAP servers have been fully deployed, verified and tested.
