Today is patch Tuesday for August 2018 and contains a security advisory bulletin for Exchange 2010. Due to the way that Exchange 2010 is serviced, security updates are released as a new update rollup (RU). Separate updates were also released for Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2016.

This is a repro of a customer reported issue where they were having issues sending email from Office 365 to on-premises Exchange servers. Apparently this had been working previously with no issues, then mailflow started to have problems. Some email was flowing from Office 365, but some was delayed or not delivered at all.

The Exchange team today announced the availability of Update Rollup 22 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3. RU22 is the latest rollup of customer fixes available for Exchange Server 2010. The release contains fixes for customer reported issues and previously released security bulletins.

Update 16-11-2020 - Issue still persists. Currently see the same behaviour on an Exchange 2016 CU18 server and a fresh Exchange 2013 Cu23 build.
