Client Throttling Event ID 2915 – What It Really Means

Here I was truffling through the TechNet forums, and saw this thread.  I thought I’d share a little bit more detail around it, as the error text that is added to the event log entry is a little confusing.

While Exchange 2007 did have some throttling mechanisms, it was Exchange 2010 that really introduced a fully featured throttling framework.  This is implemented by configuring clientRead the rest “Client Throttling Event ID 2915 – What It Really Means”

Time To Move To SkyDrive From Mesh

Just in case anyone is still procrastinating about moving over from Mesh to SkyDrive, please note that Mesh will be retired next week on Wednesday February the 13th 2013.

Believe it or not, but it was back in 2008 when Mesh was released.  Time certainly flies, and the capabilities and expectations people now have for cloud services have changed.

SkyDrive is now the central component for integra… Read the rest “Time To Move To SkyDrive From Mesh”

My current TechNet signature is shown below, and t… Read the rest “How To Tweak Your TechNet Forum Signature”

Fine Grained Control When Registering Multiple IP Addresses–Part Trois

Exchange 2010 PowerShell 3.0 and WSUS

Last Tuesday was December’s Patch Tuesday, it also featured the re-release of Exchange 2010 SP2 RU5 as the V2 of the update.  As a result Exchange administrators have been busy updating servers and installing patches.

If you read no further, remember only this – do not install Windows Management Framework 3.0 onto Exchange 2010 SP2 or Exchange 2007 servers!

Fine Grained Control When Registering Multiple IP Addresses–Part Deux

IP Address Fine Grained Control

30-1-2013 Edit – Link to part 3 is here.

In the Exchange 2007 and 2010 world there are definite scenarios where there is a need to add multiple IP addresses to a server so that we can assign specific IP addresses to different web sites.  However we do not want clients resolving the Exchange server to multiple A records and getting into a tizzy.

You can a review a previous blog post that I wrote on new… Read the rest “Fine Grained Control When Registering Multiple IP Addresses–Part Deux”
