Exchange 2010 Public Folder Migration

For so many years organisations have postponed the inevitable.  They have refused to clean up Exchange public folders, and content from 1996 is still present.  Those Outlook forms that someone wrote in 1999 are still present.  Stale Offline Address Book (OAB) folders and OWAScratchPad folders hang on for dear life.  None of these are needed, and its high time to remove them.

Exchange 2016 CU8 has been released to the Microsoft download centre!  Exchange 2016 has a different servicing strategy than Exchange 2007/2010 and utilises Cumulative Updates (CUs) rather than the Rollup Updates (RU/UR) which were used previously.    CUs are a complete installation of Exchange 2016 and can be used to install a fresh server or to update a previously installed one. Exchange 2010 SP3 RU19 Released

Exchange 2010 SP3 RU19

The Exchange team today announced the availability of Update Rollup 19 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3.  RU19 is the latest rollup of customer fixes available for Exchange Server 2010. The release contains fixes for customer reported issues and previously released security bulletins.

Reminder–End of Office 365 Outlook Anywhere Support October 31st 2017

The end of Outlook Anywhere support in Office 365 is almost upon us.  In a weeks time support for Outlook Anywhere (OA) will be removed in Office 365.  Note that this does not impact on-premises deployments. This change is in Office 365.  The replacement client connectivity protocol is MAPI/HTTP.  MAPI/HTTP is not a new protocol, it was introduced with Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1.
