Exchange Online in Office 365 has a very similar RBAC implementation to the on-premises installations of Exchange. After previously bumping to an issue with Exchange Online (EXO), and then twice again in the last fortnight this bubbled to the top of the publishing pile.

One item that is very prevalent is people directly loading the Exchange PowerShell snapin into the Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE). This is not supported from the Exchange point of view, as Exchange requires that Remote PowerShell be used with Exchange 2010 and 2013.

It is always interesting to see how certain constructs are carried over from previous versions of Exchange without being re-evaluated. Impact Of Changing ActiveSync DefaultAccessLevel

The default settings in Exchange 2010 and 2013 allow any user to synchronise any device. Depending upon your organisation's viewpoint this default may not be optimal. Ideally this should have been changed when Exchange 2010 or 2013 was first deployed. Save The Date – End Of Forefront Protection 2010 For Exchange — T Minus 12 Months

Since the Forefront brand of products have been retired, yes I miss TMG, please be aware of the extended support date for Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange.

This product is slated to exit extended support on the 31st of December 2015:

Using Out-GridView With Exchange 2010 PowerShell

Exchange 2013 CU7 Released

Exchange 2013 CU7 has been released to the Microsoft download centre! Exchange 2013 has a different servicing strategy than Exchange 2007/2010 and utilises Cumulative Updates (CUs) rather than the Rollup Updates (RU/UR) which were used previously.
