Still Running DirSync and AAD Sync–Really Time To Update

This post is for those customers who continue to run outdated and legacy versions of the synchronisation tools to connect on-premises Active Directory to Azure Active Directory. It was noted back in April this year that legacy versions of the synchronisation tools should be updated to a supported version of Azure AD Connect. Preferably the latest available version.

Reminder–End of Office 365 Outlook Anywhere Support October 31st 2017

The end of Outlook Anywhere support in Office 365 is almost upon us. In a weeks time support for Outlook Anywhere (OA) will be removed in Office 365. Note that this does not impact on-premises deployments. This change is in Office 365. The replacement client connectivity protocol is MAPI/HTTP. MAPI/HTTP is not a new protocol, it was introduced with Exchange 2013 SP1 and Outlook 2013 SP1.

End of Outlook 2007 Support

Earlier this year we said goodbye to our friend, Exchange 2007. Now that it is October the 10th, Outlook 2007 is also exiting out of extended support.

Today marks the end of support for the legacy synchronisation tools which are used to connect on-premises Active Directory to Office 365 and Azure AD. Specifically Windows Azure Active Directory Sync (DirSync) and Azure AD Sync are the tools which are transitioning out of support at this time. Today’s the day to say goodbye to our old friend, Exchange 2007. At this point you should have completed the project to move all mailboxes and resources from Exchange 2007 to a supported version of Exchange, and uninstall the Exchange 2007 servers.

Office 2013–SP1 Now Required

In the last several customer engagements, there has been a trend to not install updates for Office 2013. Some admins thought that there was no service pack available, and others thought that the RTM build of Office 2013 was still in support. Unfortunately neither are correct viewpoints.

We are now at the end of the Exchange 2013 RTM support lifecycle phase. Yes, it really has been two years since Exchange 2013 was released…..

At this time Exchange 2013 RTM, CU1, CU2 and CU3 are no longer supported. Customers should be on a recent Exchange 2013 build. Exchange 2013 CU4 is also known as SP1.

Save The Date – End Of Forefront Protection 2010 For Exchange — T Minus 12 Months

Since the Forefront brand of products have been retired, yes I miss TMG, please be aware of the extended support date for Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange.

This product is slated to exit extended support on the 31st of December 2015:
